10:00 AM
Steve Jobs Theater

10:07  AM
The meeting is over. I would like to have seen the meeting extended at least till 10:30 AM. My question did not get asked.
Thank you Apple.

9:52 AM
Tim is now taking questions from the audience, and those submitted before hand.
  • Tim was asked about Apple’s research in diabetes (glucose monitoring) and other medical research, and how they may be applied specifically to Apple Watch in the future.
    • “Much of our research provides no ROI.”
    • “If you’re looking for ROI you’re in the wrong stock.”
  • He is making extensive comments about Apple making your health records available on your iPhone.
    • This is a big deal. I need to get on this.
    • “Apple wants to empower people to own their health.”
  • Tim was asked if Apple will provide a backdoor to the iPhone for  law enforcement.
    • Strong round of applause when Cook said “no, cause the bad guys will get in.”
9:25 AM
The Q&A portion of the meeting with Tim Cook is about to being. Proceeded by a video regarding the Apple Watch and health. Tim Cook has said when Apple’s legacy is written, it will be remembered for its impact on healthcare.
When Tim Cook and Apple management speaks, I listen.
Tim is opening with ten minutes of comments.
  • Apple has just recorded its best quarter ever.
  • The numbers are mind boggling.
  • iPhone numbers are off the charts.
    • Tim says he’s always getting comments on night mode.
  • Apple services now at $48M.
    • Pledged to double services by 2020.
    • On target.
    • Proud of AppleTV+  rollout going well.
  • Wearables business (Apple Watch and AirPods) is a fortune 150 business, larger than Marriott hotels and other well known brands.
    • AirPods, like the original iPod, are a “cultural phenomenon.”
  • iPad did $20B
  • Mac did best year ever.
  • iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, tvOS, WatchOS all well integrated.
  • All made 14 strategic acquisitions.
  • Opened new stores.
  • Expanding operations in Austin, Texas.
  • Acknowledges threat of Carona Virus to employees.
  • Company run on 100% renewable energy.
    • Now moving to have suppliers on renewable energy.
  • Expanding recycling operations.
    • Goal is to make new products without taking anything from the earth.
  • Apple has created 2M jobs to the American economy.
  • Goal is to invest 323B in USA by 2023, on target.
9:23 AM
Meeting Proposals.
  • Three management proposals regarding election of the board, certification of auditors, and executive compensation were overwhelmingly approved.
  • Three shareholder proposals were rejected, but by narrower margins than I have seen in the past.
9:00 AM
Lights dimming, we’re underway.
The subsonics to the video presentation are incredible.

8:50 AM
Official entry photo to the shareholder’s meeting. This is from the lower lobby of the Steve Jobs Theater. The architecture is a true testament to the theater’s namesake.
The meeting will start in 10 minutes.

7:55 AM
Beautiful lounge deck upstairs with a view of the Ring, Apple’s corporate headquarters. This is where the media broadcasts reports from the shareholders meeting.

7:34 AM
The Visitors Center is a combination cafe + Apple Store + memorabilia shop. Free coffee for the shareholders (though last year they were serving different coffee drinks and tea!). Starting to fill up here.

7:28 AM
Greetings from the Apple Park Vistors Center. There’s an underground garage, three or four stories deep, each with at least fifteen ChargePoint stations.
I love that I can juice the VoLT while attending the shareholder’s meeting!

6:28 AM
Driving up to the magnificent Steve Jobs Theater to attend Apple’s annual shareholder meeting.
I’m sure Tim Cook’s going to address the Corona Virus’ effect on supply chain and consumer demand.
The question I submitted is this: Will Apple allow Apple Card transactions to be downloaded to accounting software like Intuit, Freshbooks, Xero, ZoHo.
