Samsung Galaxy s10+ vs iPhone Xs Max

I'm a week into life with my new iPhone Xs, getting used to Face ID, learning the camera and animated emoji. I average a two-year upgrade cycle so it feels great getting enthusiastic about the new features coming from my 128GB iPhone 7.

In the meantime, I've been reading about the impressive hardware on the new Samsung Galaxy s10 lineup and have been looking forward to some comparative reviews.

MacRumors managed to get their hands on one (surprise surprise!) and while they acknowledge the strength of the hardware specs and innovative features like "Wireless PowerShare" of Qi-based charging using the phone itself, and ultrasonic fingerprint scanning on the lower part of the screen, I don't think the Android software is as tightly integrated and smooth as iOS.
