- Disable storing iMessages in iCloud
- Settings > iCloud > turn off ‘Messages’
- then Keep Messages for 1 Year
- Settings > Messages > set to 1 Year.
Now your iMessage texts are retained on iMessage servers for one year, rather than being retained in iCloud storage, and I trust Apple more than anything Facebook & Co to keep my data secure here in the USA.
